Mr Rishi Dhir

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Rishi Dhir is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow and London Bridge hospital. His clinical specialist interest is all aspects of upper limb surgery including the shoulder, elbow and hand.

He has undergone three prestigious fellowships at Melbourne, Australis, Wrightington and Edinburgh where he gained great experience in all aspects of upper limb surgery. This followed being a trainee on the prestigious Royal London training programme.

Mr Dhir has a longstanding interest in education, and this is where he has built an outstanding international reputation. Formal education training includes training the trainers, a PGCERT and current PGDip in medical education (which he is currently undertaking) at the University of Cambridge. Mr Dhir has extensive experience in being faculty and lecturing on over 100 courses at MRCS, FRCS and interview level and is regularly invited as a deanery guest speaker or to teach on other courses and platforms.

He has also written numerous book chapters including FRCS texts such as ‘concise orthopaedic notes’, ‘SBAs for the orthopaedic FRCS’ and is currently publishing an ‘FRCS tips and techniques book’ He is also an editor for Hamilton and Bailey orthopaedics. He has also produced over 250 educational training videos at FRCS level and acted as an examiner at medical finals level (Barts medical school). He is also a former gold medallist at Wrightington hospital.

Mr Dhir is best known for setting up the internationally renowned orthopaedic FRCS platform, Let’s Talk Dr (www.letstalkdr.com) personally mentoring over 1000 international students to success in the exam in regions including the UK and Ireland, Far East (Singapore and Hong Kong), India, Australasia, South Africa and the USA. This has achieved the highest international pass rates and also includes extensive experience and courses in interview coaching and courses. He has recently set up a collaboration with BOMSA (British Orthopaedic Medical Students Association) producing videos to train medical students internationally.

Using extensive experience and tips from a strong public speaking background including doing interviews on the BBC, SKY TV and numerous radio interviews, Mr Dhir brings a strong emphasis and experience in technique and delivery to the course which is so vital to conquering the consultant interview. He will teach you innovative techniques to help you to achieve your best possible performance.
